“The idea that popular opinion can be utilized with viral marketing to induce a foreign military intervention is really, really dangerous,” he wrote. “It is immoral to try to sell a sanitized view of foreign intervention that ignores the fact that people will die as a result. This applies to politicians as well as for Jason Russell.”
Invisible Children has not responded to a request for comment.
A blog of a Canadian university student opposes the campaign has also gained popularity, on Wednesdays.
“I do not doubt for a second that those involved in 2012 Kony have good intentions, and I do not doubt one second that Joseph Kony is a very bad man,” writes Grant Oyston, a sociology and political science student at the Acadia University in his blog, entitled Children visible.

News Lashkar-e-Tayyeba’s Holi terror plot in city busted:Delhi Police have uncovered a plot Lashkar-e-Tayyeba terror (LeT) to bomb crowded places in the city during rush purchase Holi, similar to the 2005 bombings in markets two days before Diwali that left 62 dead and dozens injured.
Police said they had arrested two suspects and seized large quantities of explosives from them. The Tis Hazari court on Wednesday sent them to police custody for 10 days.
After chief metropolitan magistrate over Smita Garg sent them to custody, the police had retracted by a back door to avoid mediapersons. The pair, believed to be in their early 20s, were identified as Ehtesham Ahmad Malik and his cousin Tauseef.
It emerged that the arrests have resulted in a joint effort of IB and police forces of the State of Delhi, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. He also learned that Ehtesham had traveled to Pakistan in 2011 for the formation of terror.
On one day, the police made the disclosure, Interior Minister P. Chidambaram during a press conference, cited the arrests to strengthen its case for a National Centre for fight against terrorism (NCTC).
The Delhi Police Commissioner BK Gupta said the suspects were arrested from Tughlaqabad Extension in south Delhi on Tuesday. “It’s a good decision as we have recovered a valuable record of a memory card seized from them,” he said.
Special commissioner of police (special cell) PN Aggarwal at a press conference at the headquarters of the Delhi Police said both men were Indian nationals. More arrests were likely in the coming days, he added.
Special cell officers have recovered a bomb making materials, passports, mobile phones, the matrix (used for reading coded messages) and memory cards containing instructions on how to set up an improvised explosive device (IED) and shoot an AK-47. Five mobile phones were also seized.
“One of the suspects traveled to Pakistan in December 2011 and returned in January of this year on valid travel documents. The memory card has videos showing the trained arms,” confirmed Aggarwal.
